During the recent DIALOG face-to-face meeting in Oslo, hosted by SINTEF, project partners gathered to align on key technical and dissemination milestones. A standout contribution came from DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, who shared their perspective on the project’s long-term operational value.

“The SESAR Exploratory Research Project DIALOG holds great potential for us to develop, together with our European partners, an effective AI-powered teamwork assistant that will support our air traffic controllers in the long term,” noted Konrad Hagemann (DFS).
“We eagerly anticipate the upcoming prototype this fall, and the validation planned for early 2026, where our team of controllers will directly take part in simulations.”

DFS plays a central role in DIALOG by contributing:

  • Extensive operational expertise in air traffic control

  • Over a decade of experience in speech recognition for ATCOs

  • Deep knowledge in human factors and task modelling

Their input is essential to ensure DIALOG’s AI systems are usable, safe, and fit for real-world environments.
