{"id":695,"date":"2025-09-17T10:50:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T08:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.dblue.it\/ealu-aer\/?p=695"},"modified":"2025-09-17T10:54:50","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T08:54:50","slug":"join-us-for-the-event-supporting-drone-strategy-2-0-results-from-u-space-digital-sky-demonstrators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.dblue.it\/ealu-aer\/2025\/09\/17\/join-us-for-the-event-supporting-drone-strategy-2-0-results-from-u-space-digital-sky-demonstrators\/","title":{"rendered":"Join us for the event &#8220;Supporting Drone Strategy 2.0: Results from U-space Digital Sky Demonstrators&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23-24 October 2025<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">EUROCONTROL Headquarters &#8211; Brussels, Belgium<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Join us for a two-day event showcasing the achievements of three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sesarju.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>SESAR<\/strong><\/a> U-space Digital Sky Demonstrator (DSD) projects &#8211; <strong>U-ELCOME<\/strong>, <strong>BURDI<\/strong>, and <strong>\u00c9AL\u00da-AER<\/strong> &#8211; co-funded by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cinea.ec.europa.eu\/index_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA)<\/a><\/strong> under the CEF Transport programme.<\/p>\n<p>The event will bring together key aviation and drone stakeholders from across Europe to share operational experiences, showcase results, and explore the future of U-space implementation.<\/p>\n<p>A dedicated exhibition area will feature both live and pre-recorded demonstrations of U-space systems.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What to expect?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This event aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Showcase the tangible achievements in U-space implementation<\/strong> through the results of three SESAR Digital Sky Demonstrator projects: U-ELCOME, BURDI, and \u00c9AL\u00da-AER.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promote knowledge exchange<\/strong> by sharing operational experiences, challenges, and lessons learned from real-world deployments across Europe.<\/li>\n<li>Highlight technological implementation, with <strong>live demonstrations<\/strong> of key systems such as common information services providers (CISP) and U-space service providers (USSP).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support strategic alignment<\/strong> with the SESAR JU vision for a digital and sustainable European airspace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Discover the projects on show:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>U-ELCOME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Demonstrated real-life U-space services across Spain, Italy, and France\u2014both in controlled and uncontrolled airspace. It is the only project to deploy multiple U-space service providers (USSPs) in a single location, showing how they can work together. The project has collected key lessons and recommendations to support future U-space implementation.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sesarju.eu\/projects\/U-ELCOME\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BURDI<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Developed and implemented a U-space concept in complex urban and cross-border environments (Port of Antwerp). It focused on interoperability, safety, and public benefit, supporting diverse drone operations like medical support, goods delivery, and inspections. The project provides a reference for U-space best practices and future standards.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sesarju.eu\/projects\/BURDI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c9AL\u00da-AER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Established Ireland\u2019s first Digital Sky Demonstrator in Shannon to integrate drones with traditional Air Traffic Control (ATC). The project tested cutting-edge U-space technologies and BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations.
