On 5 and 6 November, HERON project partners gathered in Rome, Italy, for their annual two-day face-to-face meeting<\/strong>, hosted by Enav, the Italian Air Navigation Service Provider.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to review the latest advancements across each project exercise, aligning on overall progress as HERON enters its third and final year. With 2025 expected to be a busy year, the project team is preparing for a series of demonstrations<\/strong> across Europe which operate within HERON’s five core demonstration areas: Integrated 4D for Green Trajectories<\/a>, Green Surface Operations Management<\/a>, Optimised Approaches<\/a>, Improved Trajectory Planning<\/a><\/strong>, and ADS-C Common Services<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Partners during the WP3 \u201cPerformance and Benefits Assessment\u201d Workshop<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to technical discussions, partners participated in workshops<\/strong> to shape next year\u2019s communication and dissemination activities, including open days<\/strong> and participation in international events<\/strong> such as the SESAR Innovation Days 2024<\/a><\/strong> happening in Rome from 12 to 15 November. They also reviewed metrics and methods for assessing CO\u2082 impact<\/strong>, a key component of HERON\u2019s sustainability goals.<\/p>\n

Benjamin Tessier, Project Coordinator<\/strong> from Airbus<\/strong><\/a> affirms that “this milestone meeting highlighted the HERON project’s substantial progress, marking a promising transition into its conclusive year where all planned deliverables will come to fruition. HERON remains firmly committed to deploying high-impact operational solutions that will enhance Air Traffic Management performance and efficiency”.<\/em><\/p>\n

With clear objectives set for the last year of the project 2025, the team remains committed to driving innovation and sustainability in European aviation<\/strong>, working collaboratively to deliver meaningful environmental impacts and operational improvements.<\/p>\n
