The Fly AI Forum 2025 will see the participation of HUCAN, who were invited by SESAR and will be hosted at their stand. On this occasion we will highlight our latest advancements in developing a holistic approach to certification-aware design for advanced automation and AI-based systems. A central aspect of HUCAN’s contribution is the systematic analysis and classification of AI-based solutions, using the taxonomies established by EASA and SESAR to evaluate the levels of automation these technologies enable. The project also investigates the emerging requirements these solutions must fulfill, as well as the methodologies needed to support their validation and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the research and development phases, up to the release of real-world applications.
The research conducted so far marks a step toward a certification-aware design ofAI-based systems and advanced automation, ensuring they meet safety, reliability and operational performance expectations. HUCAN has systematically analyzed how the objectives outlined by EASA can be addressed through its use cases, examining the relevance of these objectives across technology, human-machine interactions and operational contexts.
Thanks to the presence of industry leaders, regulators and innovators, the Fly AI Forum is the ideal setting for showcasing the holistic, certification-aware approach which can play a key role in supporting the design and development of AI solutions, reinforcing HUCAN’s commitment to shaping the future of AI-powered aviation.
