The Glossary of essential terminology for AI and Advance Automation in aviation compiles official definitions of essential terms related to the certification of advanced automation and AI in ATM. The purpose of the Certification Glossary is to provide an overview which actors in the certification approach may refer to.
The glossary consolidates definitions and terminology from various EU regulations, including the AI Act (2024), GDPR, EASA AI Roadmap while also incorporating inputs from SESAR AI framework and EU HLEG-AI Ethics guidelines for trustworthy AI. It highlights discrepancies across frameworks, provides harmonized terminology, and is organized into three sections: 1) Automation and AI; 2) AI Regulation and Certification; 3) Society and Ethics
