HUCAN
Innovative certification methods
for advanced automation systems in aviation
The HUCAN project (Holistic Unified Certification Approach for Novel systems based on advanced automation) aims to pioneer certification methods for new Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems with a focus on human centred advanced automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered technologies.
HUCAN approach to certification will be designed, developed and tested through case studies on dynamic airspace use and capacity on demand
HUCAN objectives
OBJECTIVE 1
Landscape of advanced automation within the EU digital strategy for mobility and ATM
OBJECTIVE 2
EU legal and regulatory framework on certification of advanced-automated and autonomous technology in aviation and ATM
OBJECTIVE 3
A holistic approach to support the certification of AI and advanced automation solutions in aviation from the early design stages, ensuring their gradual alignment with the EASA AI Strategy
OBJECTIVE 4
