RDTs are the newest platform in the aviation sector that permit the flow and capacity management of airport traffic remotely. In traditional air traffic control (ATC) towers, operators have direct line of sight of taxiways and runways for monitoring purposes. Whilst the RDT concept provides the same information through video transmission, allowing the provision of airport air traffic services (ATS) from any location.

TRUSTY aims to enhance the transparency and understandability of AI-driven decision support in the realm of RDT, fostering trust and dependability. This endeavor is anticipated to yield a proof-of-concept for a reliable intelligent system in RDTs, paving the way for increased automation to ensure secure and dependable decision support.
