ÉALÚ-AER Project Launches Nationwide Survey on Drone Acceptance

Drones have the potential to transform urban transportation by offering solutions to growing challenges like urban congestion and environmental sustainability. Ireland is actively exploring this innovative field through various initiatives aimed at improving technology and infrastructures while finding effective ways to integrate drone services into existing systems. However, for drones to become a part of everyday life, gaining public trust and social acceptance will be essential.

Public opinion plays a crucial role in shaping the policies and regulations that govern the use of drones. By understanding and addressing the community’s concerns and expectations, we can foster trust and make drones a safe, valuable,  and accepted part of our daily lives.

 Nationwide Public Consultation Launched

Within this context, the European funded ÉALÚ-AER project is launching a national survey to understand how the public feels about drones. This online consultation aims at collecting feedback from Irish citizens covering various aspects of social acceptance, including the expected potential benefits of drone usage, safety and privacy concerns, and openness to new business models.
