The EALU-AER project will showcase its innovative solutions at the upcoming Transport Research Area (TRA) conference in Dublin, Ireland from April 15th to 18th 2024. 

The TRA conference is a four-day event focused on shaping the future of sustainable and inclusive mobility. It brings together individuals and organizations from various transportation sectors (road, rail, aviation, water, logistics) to share knowledge, foster innovation, and discuss challenges and opportunities. Through presentations, workshops, and discussions, attendees explore advancements in sustainable urban and rural mobility, cutting-edge technologies, and the wider transportation landscape. The conference aims to create an environment for collaboration, sparking new ideas, forging connections, and planting the seeds for future breakthroughs.

Tuesday, April 16th

EALU-AER demonstration (11 AM and 4 PM, Hall 4-77):

The EALU-AER project will showcase the demonstration “Collins Airspace Services for U-space services deployment in Ireland” at the Future Mobility Campus Ireland pavilion at 11:00. A second iteration will be conducted from 4:00 to 4:30 PM with the presence of Andreas Boschen – Executive Director of SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking.

Special Session Participation (2:30-3:45 PM, Hall 8A-1):

Wassim Derguech, project coordinator from the Future Mobility Campus Ireland joins the “Urban Air Mobility – From Concept to Reality” special session organised by SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking. This high-profile discussion features leading figures like Bobby Healy (project partner from Manna Drone Delivery), Ilyana Simeonova, and Marina Jiménez Navarta (EUROCONTROL). Moderated by David Batchelor (SESAR JU), the session delves into progress made in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) research, explores future requirements, and concludes with a panel discussion on societal benefits, technical needs, and achieving social acceptance for drones.

Public Consultation (4:30-5:00 PM):

Aurora De Bortoli Vizioli from Deep Blue will conduct a public consultation on the social acceptance of AAM. This includes one-on-one interviews and a survey to gather valuable insights from the public. We encourage everyone to participate in the survey and share their thoughts on AAM!

Oral Presentation (5:45-6:45 PM, Hall 3B):

Javier Camacho Font from Collins Aerospace will deliver a technical presentation titled “Enabling automated zero-emissions Air Mobility through U-Space infrastructure.” This session will focus on how EALU-AER paves the way for zero-emission urban air mobility in cities. It will showcase a U-space infrastructure that integrates seamlessly with existing air traffic management systems, enabling safe drone operations for various missions like delivery and passenger transport.

Thursday, April 18th

Poster Presentation (9:45-11:00 AM, Hall 8C – Poster Area):

Khushboo Wadhwani from Collins Aerospace will present a poster titled “EALU-AER: Enhanced Automation for U-Space/ATM Integration.” This poster session provides a detailed look at the EALU-AER project’s specific contributions to U-space development.

By participating in these diverse activities, the EALU-AER project aims to:

  • Foster dialogue and collaboration within the AAM community.
  • Gather valuable feedback from industry experts and the public.
