The SESAR JU Annual Conference 2025, held at the Sheraton Hotel, Brussels Airport, brought together key stakeholders from the aviation industry to discuss the future of European Air Traffic Management (ATM). The event focused on the presentation of the new European ATM Master Plan, which defines the strategic direction for the deployment of innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness of aviation.

A key highlight of the conference was the presentation of the JARVIS project to Apostolos Tzitzikostas, European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism. In the presence of Andreas Boschen, SESAR JU Executive Director, our project coordinator Stefano Riverso from Collins Aerospace and Nikolaos Iosif from Athens International Airport, representing Solution 3 – Airport Digital Assistant, had the pleasure of presenting JARVIS and its concrete contribution to the Digital European Sky through the use of artificial intelligence.
Key JARVIS project partners attending the event included Melina Athanasiadou from Collins Aerospace, solution 1 – Airborne Digital Assistant leader, and Gabriella Gigante from CIRA, leading solution 2 – Air Traffic Control Digital Assistant, all working together to push the boundaries of innovation in European aviation.

JARVIS is a SESAR industrial research project focused on improving ATM operations through AI-driven solutions. By implementing and validating three new digital assistants (and several features) teaming with their human counterparts, JARVIS will ensure safer and more efficient operations in complex scenarios.

The conference welcomed over 550 participants, including policymakers, industry leaders and aviation professionals, and fostered discussions on how to accelerate the digital transformation of ATM while addressing environmental and operational challenges.

The recognition of JARVIS at this high-profile event underlines the importance of the project in shaping the future of aviation. We are incredibly proud of our team’s efforts and look forward to continuing our work in defining the next generation of ATM technologies.
