Vladimira Canadyova, Lead Consultant at Deep Blue, will present the results from recent stakeholder workshops at the upcoming EASN 2024 Conference in Thessaloniki, taking place from 8th to 10th October 2024.
In her presentation, Canadyova will introduce the ASTAIR project, outlining its key aims and objectives, before delving into the findings from a series of interviews and workshops with key ground operation stakeholders. These stakeholders include Air Traffic Controllers, Ground Handlers, Airport Managers, and Apron Operators from Paris Charles-de-Gaulle, Amsterdam Schiphol, and Frankfurt airports.
The workshops provided insights into several use cases where high levels of automation – such as routing, parking allocation, and tug fleet management – could significantly enhance operational performance and boost airport capacity.
Additionally, the presentation will explore the potential automation levels achievable in these use cases, referencing the EASA guidelines for automation in machine learning applications. This will cover all three levels of AI application: human assistance, human-AI teaming, and advanced automation.
