We are excited to present a behind-the-scenes look at TRUSTY’s Final Validation Experiment, recently held at ENAC’s ACHIL simulation platform.
For two weeks, 17 expert air traffic controllers (ATCOs) operated realistic airport scenarios, testing how explainable AI can foster trust in Remote Digital Tower (RDT) environments:
✈️ Toulouse Blagnac Airport (LFBO) — Controllers managed active traffic (pushback, taxiing, takeoff) via radio communication.
✈️ Muret-Lherm Aerodrome (LFBR) — Controllers supervised operations remotely, supported by AI-assisted event detection (video and audio).
Through these simulations, TRUSTY explores how transparency and explainability can empower controllers to work safely and effectively with AI systems — shaping the future of digital aviation.
A big thank you to all the colleagues and teams from for their contribution and dedication to this important milestone! 👏
